1930s Unused Wadesco Powder Compact, with Original Box!
This dramatic 1930s Art Deco compact has never been used! For all these years it's been remarkably preserved with it's original felt sleeve, original pink box and original puff. The size is rather large, 4-1/4" across to be exact, which is often referred to as "flapjack" size. The front cover features a very bold design of glossy black celluloid that forms a kind of pinwheel. The black shapes are slightly convex which means they raise a bit above the flat surface of the lid. The gentle curve of these highly reflective surfaces creates a very fascinating effect! The condition is very, very good. The mirror is slightly distressed on the edges but the center has remained perfect and is still reflective and quite functional. The powder well is spotless and ready to use! This is an absolute dream of a compact! I always keep a compact at hand in my shop for periodic touch-ups throughout the day. And this one would be perfect for that purpose. Stylish and chic, you simply leave it on your desk so it's always there when you need it!
