Pair Victorian 14k Gold Taille d'Épargne Enamel Wedding Bracelets
Behold the holy grail of Victorian wedding bracelets! Featuring all the bells and whistles of the Aesthetic design movement (circa 1880) and in remarkable condition this pair of matching bangles is simply spellbinding. Made of solid 14k gold, painstakingly hand etched and enameled in the Taille d’Epargne technique they are unquestionably “top of the line”. The decorations throughout are so thoughtfully arranged that when it came to incorporating a hinge at the side the designer cleverly used two in order not to disrupt the ornate pattern. As a designer myself this is exactly the kind of attention to detail that excites me and confirms that what you are admiring is something of the highest quality and certainly a work of art to say the least. To find just one bracelet of this caliber is rare enough but to find the original pair is beyond! The width of the bangles is 5/8” with the buckle detail measuring slightly wider at 7/8”. The inner measurements are 2” high and 2-3/16” making them an ideal fit for a wrist that measures between 6” and 7”. The clasps are strong and click audibly when closed, holding tightly. There is also a small, decorative safety chain in place for added security. The condition overall is outstanding. There is extremely minor enamel loss that goes unnoticed unless pointed out and there is one nearly invisible dip in the surface near the clasp of one of the bracelets. The quality and decorative appeal of these bracelets is utterly exceptional. Impressively designed, impressively made and impressively preserved they are an absolute treasure!
