Antique Turquoise and Gold Delicate Everyday Necklace
This sweet, delicate necklace is comprised of seven beautiful little turquoise cabochons. They are each set in a 14k gold star-like mounting which date from circa 1900 to 1910. The effect of the last one hundred years is a natural patina which can be seen in the gorgeous variation of color. As the photos show, some of the stones are lighter and more blue while some are slightly darker and more green. Each of the gold mountings has six long, slender prongs that extended between the points of the star. The prongs reach up just far enough to hold the stone securely in place while slightly elevated keeping the sides breezy and rather open. A little back story is that I discovered the seven turquoise stars hanging somewhat haphazardly on a sterling chain and that really didn't do them justice! So I opted to arrange them nicely on a vintage gold filled chain. The result is an easy, no-fuss, "every day" little necklace. It's lightweight and looks best worn rather short, across the collarbone. The current length is 16-1/4" but I can shorten or lengthen it upon request for no charge. Each of the turquoise dangles measure approximately 7mm across.
