Turquoise and Rose Cut Diamond Pendant Necklace, Circa 1900
This antique pendant features a vibrant robin’s egg blue turquoise cabochon surrounded by a horseshoe shaped halo of incredible rose cut diamonds. The turquoise is 10mm by 12mm and is bezel set in 14k gold. It is topped with a tiny little diamond leaf detail and hangs from a discreet loop which allows it to move independently from the halo. The entire pendant then hangs from a decorative diamond bale that completes the design. From the back and side you can see that the pendant was formed in two layers: the back being solid gold and the front being finely hand tooled silver with an excellent natural patina. The chain is not quite as old as the pendant but the patina and texture made it a suitable match! The measurement from the top of the bale to the bottom of the pendant is 1-3/8”. The halo measures 13/16”. The chain measures 16”.
