Persian Turquoise 14k Princess Ring, Circa 1960
This mid century “Princess” style ring was handmade in solid 14k. It is set with twenty-one Persian turquoise cabochons. Over the years the stones acquired a beautiful, natural patina which can be admired in the varied shades of blue. The colors range from robins egg to teal with several shades in between. The surface of the gold petals has a wonderful millgraine texture and deep, hand carved grooves. These features, although tiny, are anything but subtle! The light catches and reflects off of the various textures, resulting in a lively effect. The ring sits like a little tufted cushion on your finger measuring 13mm at the highest point and 17mm across. The shank is comprised of three narrow bands that converge to form a 3mm wide shank at the base. There is a series of illegible hallmarks on the outside the shank, likely Italian but unconfirmed. The gold tests positively for 14k. Currently the ring is a size 6-3/4 and can be sized up or down upon request.
