Unbelievably Gorgeous Antique Persian Turquoise Pavé Ring
Simply put, this ring is stunning! The dense and perfect turquoise pavé dome is set into a 14k yellow gold bezel and sits so proudly atop an airy, custom made gold mounting. The pavé dome dates to the mid to late 1800s: a time when Persian turquoise gained tremendous popularity in it's use in fine jewelry. There is evidence on the flat, closed back of the dome that this piece started it's life as a brooch. Sometime later, possibly the 1930s or 1950s, the brooch was repurposed into the ring we see today. The bezel and decorative mounting were custom designed to accommodate the dome and they do so with style! The design of the mounting is so smart in the way it very slightly elevates the turquoise dome away from your finger, allowing light and air to pass beneath it. The tiny turquoise beads are all present and have a gorgeous variation in size and color. Predominantly "robin's egg" blue there are a few stones that hint at a slightly greenish shade. This creates a very pretty kind of ombré effect! The dome measures 1" across and rises approximately 1/2" from your finger to the highest point. The shank is rather simple, reading as two parallel bands running tightly side-by-side. Currently the ring measures exactly as a 6 on the mandrel but because of the open design under the dome it fits more like a 6-1/4 to 6-1/2. It can be sized upon request and if you have any questions about the fit just let me know! This ring is absolutely beautiful. A serious summertime knock-out!
