Super 60s Turquoise Cocktail Ring
This remarkable ring is the epitome of mid century jewelry design. So sleek and modern with an edgy space-age flair! It is solid 14k yellow gold and is set with a rather large natural turquoise cabochon. The turquoise has acquired a beautiful patina over the years which is best described as a greenish-ocean blue. It has a smooth polished dome and measures 17mm by 12mm. Surrounding the center stone is a glittering halo of 20 modern brilliant cut diamonds which total approximately .60 cttw. Fanning out magnificently below the halo are 55 gold spokes which undulate in length in order to form a contour around your finger. The effect is incredible! The negative space between each spoke is the same dimension of the spokes themselves so the play of light as you move your hand is quite mesmerizing. The base of the ring compliments the top very nicely...there are five individual bands that sweep outward from underneath the spokes. They gently curve to meet each other as they become a solid 3.5mm shank. There is a plaque inside the shank that indicates the gold is 14k. There is also a jeweler's mark "Gb" which is stylized to fit neatly and kind of wrap around the 14k mark. I've researched possible jewelers but so far have come up empty handed. Yet what we do know is that whoever the jeweler was had an amazing gift for design and composition. This ring is nothing short of fabulous! Currently it will fit a size 6-1/2 but is sizable up or down upon request.
