Outstanding Vintage Handmade Silver Filigree Panel Bracelet
This handmade silver filigree bracelet is exceptional! I cannot imagine the skill and patience that was required to twist all these delicate silver wires into such a beautiful piece of jewelry. The focus of the design consists of three larger decorative panels, each set centrally with a sugarloaf glass cabochon in a remarkable chartreuse color. These three panels have an identical swirling pattern, albeit with naturally occurring variations. The design is best described as four spirals which stem from the center (top and bottom) of the glass stones...a beautiful organic geometry. The decorative panels are connected to one another with four filigree links which give the whole bracelet an open, airy quality. The bracelet is finished off with a wonderful two-part clasp...the two parts fit together like a puzzle and are held securely together by inserting the connected pin. The width of the bracelet is exactly 1" and the full length is approximately 7". The larger panels are very slightly curved, providing a nice contour so the bracelet will fit very comfortably on your wrist. There is no maker's mark or hallmark but the metal does test positively for sterling silver. This piece was clearly handmade by a very skilled craftsman with a wonderful design ability. And let's not forget the incredible color of the glass stones! Wow!!
