Antique Sapphire and Rose Cut Diamond Dinner Ring
This gorgeous antique ring is the epitome of sophisticated, old world elegance. The center stone is a gloriously deep blue genuine sapphire. It weighs approximately .40ct and is a very slight oval which suits the design of the ring very nicely. Glittering all around the sapphire are twelve magical little rose cut diamonds. They are arranged like tapering rays from a brilliant light which is very much the same effect they give! The delicately pierced grooves which designate each of the "rays" are edged with very fine milgrain work. These are extraordinary details, all meticulously hand done and worthy of a closer look! Every diamond is in its place, held securely for over a century by tiny little beads. The gallery, slightly raised, features four simplified scrolls which serve to allow a bit of light to pass through, further illuminating the gems. The very top of the ring, where the stones are set, is silver with a beautiful natural patina. The balance of the ring is 14k and is hallmarked "585" inside the shank. The measurement north to south across the top of the ring is 17.5mm. Side to side the top measures approximately 11mm. The shank measures 2mm all the way around and currently the ring is a size 7-1/2. Sizing up or down is available upon request. This is a very beautiful piece of jewelry of heirloom quality. A perfect "something blue" or simply a sensational addition to any antique jewelry collection!
