Incredible Mid Century Turquoise Quatrefoil 18k Ring
I couldn't decide if this ring was best described as adorable or incredible. So for the time being, I will describe it as both! The overall shape of the ring is totally delightful. With four semi-circular corners surrounding a narrow gold rope halo and an elevated cluster of prong-set Persian turquoise the design has a somewhat Moroccan flair. It is solid 18k gold and sprinkled throughout are seven twinkling diamonds which add just the right amount of sparkle. As can be seen from the side view photograph even the underside is decorative with a second tier rope border and a carved open gallery. A very subtle finishing touch that proves the thoughtfulness of the jeweler is the placement of the two tiny turquoise on either side at the start of the shank. Its a small detail that brings all the elements together so nicely. This ring has a wonderful depth and texture and over the years the turquoise have acquired a nice patina which can be seen in the varied shades of blue. The quatrefoil design measures about 15mm square and the center point of the ring rises like a cushion to peak at about 10mm above your finger. The shank is 2mm at the shoulders and widens slightly to 3mm at the base. Currently a size 5 and sizable up or down upon request.
