Elegant Mother of Pearl Cigarette or Card Case
This might just be the prettiest cigarette case ever! It's from the 1950s and is decorated on one side with four rectangular Mother of Pearl tiles. Each tile has gently rounded edges and is bordered with beautifully carved vines and flowers. Each flower on each tile is accented with a genuine pearl nestled in the center. The Mother of Pearl tiles are silky smooth and have an ethereal luminance. They reflect not only a pearly-white glow but subtle shades of pink, blue and lavender as well. The the inside of the case is very clean with no evidence of having ever been used. The clip lifts manually and holds securely when snapped back into place. Although the function of this case was originally to hold cigarettes it works equally as well to hold business cards! In which case the clip serves to keep them tidily contained on one side. The dimensions are 4" long by 3" wide by 3/8" deep. Overall, the condition is pristine yet there is one very small discoloration to the metal on the lower corner of the back side. This tiny spot does not detract from the piece as a whole but I thought it was important to mention. This is a beautiful and classy accessory with multiple functions. And just think how stylish you'll look when you hand out your business card from this elegant little case!
