Sensational Mid Century Diamond Cocktail Ring
This mid-century era cocktail ring is utterly sensational! So many words could be used to describe it, but "sensational" really sums it up nicely! I estimate that it was made circa 1950 when white gold became popular and the Retro styling was still an influence in design. And as you can see, the ring does have an asymmetrical Retro flair. The gold was hand carved to accommodate 19 bead-set heirloom diamonds that total over 1 carat. Some of the diamonds are Old Mine cut and some are Old European cut while the diamond in the center is a Modern Brilliant. And one nice thing about the design is that you can wear the leafy detail pointing upward or downward...it looks amazing either way! The shank is a simple, slightly rounded band which tapers gradually from 3mm at the shoulder to 1-1/2mm at the base. The current size is about a 7 and can be sized upon request.
