Vintage Circa 1930 18k Gold and Jade Ring
Dating from around 1930, this gorgeous, undyed jade cabochon is perfectly complimented by the heavy 18k yellow gold mounting. The hand carved details that decorate both shoulders are so wonderfully done. To me, the design resembles stylized clouds with emanating sun rays extending up towards the stone. It's a simple design that was well executed and very fitting. The inside of the shank is marked 18k and tests accordingly. This is a beautiful ring that could easily be worn by a man or a woman. It currently measures a 6-1/2 but could be sized up or down if needed. It's a very solid, hefty ring weighing 7.6 grams. The jade measures approximately 16mm by 12mm.
