French Art Nouveau 18k Ruby and Rose Cut Diamond Ring
This wonderful Art Nouveau ring elegantly combines 18 karat gold, platinum, rose cut diamonds and a gorgeous pink ruby. The base of the shank is hallmarked with an eagle’s head which indicates 18k, France circa 1900. The ruby is nestled between two rose cut diamonds, all three surrounded by wonderful Art Nouveau “whiplash” lines. There are two additional rose cut diamonds on each side for a total of six. The platinum has wonderful hand carved grooves and tiny milgrain edges. The ring has a rather low profile and a comfortable contour making it very wearable. It’s such an elegant design from such a romantic time and place! The measurement north to south at the widest point is approximately 10mm and the table of the ruby sits about 4mm above your finger. Currently a size 6-1/2 and sizable upon request.
