1920s Champlevé Enamel and Faceted Steel Purse
This beautiful 1920s purse is a lovely combination of faceted steel beads, champlevé enamel and ivory satin. The tiny beads make up a geometric pattern that decorates the front and back identically in soft shades of pink, violet and champagne. The frame is a heavy brass that was carved and enameled in a glossy coral hue. The curved clasp lifts to open the bag and reveals a shiny, thick ivory satin. Still in place are a matching satin coin pouch and double sided mirror. The bag was thoughtfully designed with a flat bottom which gives it a little bit of structure. The frame measures 4-3/4” across and opens to about 5-1/2” wide. The depth of the bag is approximately 5” with a width of 3”. The chain is 13-3/4” long. Condition is very, very good with no beads missing and only a very minor pink smudge on the satin lining.
