1960s Customized 1920s Heirloom Platinum Emerald and Diamond Ring
This ring is such a stylish execution of 1960s era repurposing! My take on it’s history is that this lovely Art Deco platinum, diamond and emerald ring was inherited by a super chic, eclectic woman in the 1960s. She apparently loved the sentiment of the ring but chose to update it’s style to be more fitting with the times. This is where a skilled jeweler got involved! The 1920s platinum ring was preserved by removing the shank and discreetly applying the decorative portion to the surface of a wide gold cigar band. Such a cool idea and done so well! The deco top of the ring tests platinum, was hand carved and is set with four transitional cut diamonds (+/-.30 cttw) and five genuine Colombian emeralds (+/-.80 cttw). The band is solid 14k gold and measures an awesome 9.5mm wide. The ring is currently a size 5.5 and can be sized up or down upon request.
