Incredible 1920s Egyptian Enamel Scarab Pendant
This 1920s era Egyptian scarab pendant has some of the finest enameling! The colors are vibrant shades of turquoise, orange and lavender with little touches of white and indigo. The pendant is double sided with an identical, gorgeous geometric design on both sides. Each shape in the pattern was created with the tiniest of silver wires which you can see beneath the glossy surface if you look very closely. The size is rather impressive measuring 1-1/2" from top to bottom and 1-1/4" at the widest point. The scarab is bulbous rather than flat which gives it an excellent three dimensional quality. In the end, the colors and designs and quality combine to create one of the most beautiful Egyptian pendants I've ever seen. If you happen to follow my Instagram, you may remember that when I first acquired this piece I was very tempted to selfishly keep it for myself! But honestly it'll be more rewarding for me if I can find it a good home! The bale at the top is gold tone so I've paired the pendant with a slinky, yet sturdy 24" gold vermeil chain (gold over sterling). If you prefer a different length just let me know. I can make an adjustment for no additional charge.
