1930s Guilloche Enamel Double Decker Compact
This is a top of the line compact for sure! Not only is it exquisitely enameled on all three surfaces but it has double decker compartments! It was made in the 1920s or 30s and is in unbelievably excellent condition. Not a chip or scratch to the enamel. The colors are very rich shades of royal blue and teal with highlighted borders in gold and hand painted central bouquets of pink blossoms on a crisp white background. The interior of small compartment has a pretty star patterned texture while the larger compartment has a smooth surface on it’s bottom with the beveled mirror tucked into the lid. Both lids open manually and remain tightly closed when snapped back into place. No detail was spared, as you can see even the edges are embossed with garlands! The outer measurement of the lower level compartment is 2-1/8” across and 3/8” high. The second tier measures 1-3/8” across and 3/8” making the height of the two together approximately 3/4”.
