Elegant Antique Triple Pearl Bypass Ring Circa 1900
This lovely antique ring, designed in a classic bypass style, features three absolutely stunning large pearls. The central pearl is a gorgeous glossy black pearl measuring a substantial 7mm across. It is flanked by two 5.5mm soft gray pearls which have a kind of mysterious glow. Each pearl is nestled into its own individual mounting with beautiful, exaggerated prongs. The prongs have a somewhat sinuous quality which is often associated with the Art Nouveau movement and indeed that is the time period during which this ring was likely made. The trio of pearls are arranged at a steep angle and are met on either side by a gentle, tapered bypass curve. These bypass sections are set with tiny little seed pearls and have been wonderfully carved with delicate beaded edges and an adorable curled bridge. The gold is a slightly rosy 10k and is hallmarked as such on the inside of the shank. The measurement, on the diagonal, from the outer edge of one gray pearl to the other is 18mm, while the north to south measurement as it sits on your finger is approximately 14mm at the widest point. The ring is currently a size 5-1/2 and can be sized up or down upon request. This is quite a beautiful antique ring with many understated yet exquisite details. The craftsmanship is very fine and therefore has given this piece of jewelry remarkable longevity.
