1960s Mid Century Diamond Sculptural Statement Ring
So sixties and so sculptural, this one of a kind handmade ring is like none I’ve ever seen. Solid 14k and signed “Niel” inside the shank it has a kind of modern architectural quality, the sweeping spiral somewhat reminiscent of the Guggenheim museum. The central focus is the .55ct brilliant cut diamond and artistically placed around it are eight more bright and twinkling diamonds. The profile of the ring is just as interesting and thoughtfully designed. The starting point of the spiral sweeps upward alongside the shank creating open space below and on both sides. This allows the ring to be stacked with bands that can easily tuck in beneath the swirl. The base of the ring curiously becomes two shanks; a round one inside of a square one. This design is surprisingly comfortable and may have something to do with how balanced it is! I can’t say enough about how eye catching this ring is. The combination of polished and textured surfaces, high and low points, and the overall composition and that’s not to mention the brilliance of the diamonds! A true one of a kind! Currently a size 6-1-2 and sizable upon request.
