Mid Century Pearl and Diamond Collar
This necklace is the epitome of classic beauty! Simple and elegant and very flattering as it sits so beautifully, draping effortlessly just across the collarbone. The necklace dates to the 1950s and is comprised of four strands of 2.5 to 3mm genuine pearls and four diamond spacers. The color of the pearls is best described as creamy-white with a remarkable pinkish/lavender undertone and an incredible luster. Each little pearl reflects the light as if it were shining from within. A necklace like this helps you understand immediately why pearls have been such a desirable 'gem' for centuries. And these in particular are truly awe-inspiring. The design of this necklace is absolutely timeless, making it fit for a bride! The 14k white gold spacers are each set with six modern brilliant diamonds (+/- .72 cttw). The clasp is a perfectly plain 1/2" round white gold disc with a tongue and groove mechanism and a discreet safety catch. The shortest strand of pearls measures 14-1/4" including the clasp. Each subsequent strand is just long enough to rest directly in line below the previous giving the four stands together a total width of approximately 7/16" or nearly 1/2". This really is a beautiful heirloom quality piece of jewelry! And I can't say enough about the pinkish luster...you'll be delighted if the photos have given even the slightest impression of how they look in person. It's a wonderful little treasure.
