Antique Pavé Sapphire and Old Mine Cut Diamond Earrings
These turn-of-the-century earrings are like none I’ve ever seen before. In an utterly timeless shape they are completely covered with pavé set sapphires in such a saturated blue brilliance that just jumps right at you. There is a total of 74 natural sapphires in shades that vary from royal to indigo. Set centrally in each top and each bottom is a .25ct old mine cut diamond, for a combined total of one carat. The back of the earrings are nearly as beautiful as the front as you can really see and appreciate the intricate gold structure. The earrings are in fact made from solid 14k gold with a layer of silver applied to the front. The simple ear wires are also 14k gold. The upper circular element measures 7/16” across while the pendant portion measures 1” long and 5/8” wide at the widest point. What I love about these earrings, aside from their unmatched beauty, is that they are incredibly wearable. For obvious reasons they would be perfect for a bride or any formal occasion. Yet although technically these are “fancy” earrings they have a rather quiet quality...sparkly but not outrageous, elegant but not necessarily dressy. I would absolutely wear them casually!
