English Diamond Solitaire Engagement Ring
Truly a classic! This glittery .20ct diamond is set in a lovely, traditional solitaire-style mounting. And more specifically we would call it an illusion setting...in this case the diamond is surrounded by a halo of "diamond cut" white gold and held in the basket with 8 sturdy prongs. The white gold intends to give the "illusion" that the diamond is larger and it really succeeds! The balance of the ring is 9k yellow gold and has several hallmarks on the inside of the shank. The markings indicate the gold content(9k), the year made (1990s) and the origin (Sheffield, England).
This is a lovely, antique style ring and an absolutely classic engagement ring! Please take note of the side view as it shows some wonderful details...notably the quality of the prongs, the openness of the basket and the tapered shoulders. The diamond is of good quality, lending it to sparkle with ease! It is a modern brilliant cut and estimated to be a G color and SI clarity. Currently the shank measures a 5-3/4 and is sizable upon request.
