Edwardian Sapphire Lavaliere Pendant, 14k Gold and Platinum
Dating from right around 1910, this Edwardian era lavaliere pendant features a gorgeous periwinkle blue natural sapphire. The pendant is solid 14 karat gold with delicate platinum accents around the sapphire. The design incorporates three vertical elements, including the bale, each of which are decorated with incredible naturalistic textures. The scale is dainty and feminine measuring approximately 1-1/2" long from the top of the bale to the lowest point of the pendant. The widest point that flares out around the sapphire measures 5/16". The sapphire is 4mm across and the tiny little natural pearl above measures 1.5mm. The pendant hangs from a 14k gold chain that measures 16-1/4" long. This necklace is such a lovely and unique example of Edwardian style jewelry. It would certainly be a gorgeous piece for a vintage-inspired bride who may be hoping to incorporate "something blue"!
