Victorian Old Mine Cut Diamond Bracelet, Made in England Circa 1900

$1,095.00

What more could you want in a Victorian bracelet?! This example was made in Birmingham, England circa 1900, is solid 9 karat gold and is fully hallmarked on the inside. The decorative upper half is literally covered in extraordinary detail with each applied element deserving a closer look, if only to admire the impressive craftsmanship! Beautifully outlined with a twisted rope border and a flourish of gold beads, the central design element resembles stylized crescent moons, full moons and stars. Each of the four little stars is set with a twinkly rose cut diamond and they are arranged to highlight a brilliant, larger old mine cut diamond. The bracelet was made using rose gold that was treated with what is called a "blooming" process that chemically alters the color of the gold to become a brighter, stronger yellow. Over the last century the bright surface has faded slightly on the highest points to reveal the rosy gold below thus creating a pleasing two-tone effect. The interior measurements are 2-3/8" from hinge to clasp and 2" high on center. The clasp holds tightly when closed and there is a simple safety chain in place for added security. The best fit will be on a wrist that measures between 6" and 6-3/4". Any questions about fit or anything else please just let me know!
