This late 19th century brooch was designed in an Etruscan revival style with four preserved scarab beetles set in solid 18k gold. The decorative framework uses lovely archeological motifs such as granulation, beaded borders as well as hand etched quatrefoil and foliate elements. The condition is beautiful with a rich, natural patina. Measuring 1-9/16” across from head to head with the pin mechanism measuring 1-1/4” from hinge to clasp. Can also be pinned vertically onto a chain to be worn as a pendant. Permanent conversion is offered upon request.
